I chose this song because he is telling Juliet to run away and never look back, because her family will change her mind. The song also talks about him throwing rocks at her window, and there are scenes in Romeo and Juliet where he is at her window.
Draw us a picture Louie.

Romeo & Juliet
Prediction
What happened to the families at the end of the play?
-At the end of the play, i think both the Montague's and the Capulet's realize what they are doing to everyone with the war they have going on, they will probably both blame each other until they come to the realization that they are both to blame. They basically killed their own children. Maybe not straight away, but I think they would stop the feud, sort out their problems and put everything behind them for the sake of the two dead Children, Romeo & Juliet.
What if Romeo did not die but Juliet did?
- I think if Juliet had died and romeo had not, then the story would have gone the same way. I think that Romeo would believe he wouldn't be able to live without Juliet and he would kill himself.

Go Back to Where You Came From
I found watching this episode interesting. I think that Raquel was quite rude at times even if what she was saying was only her opinion. She was quite shocked by the experience and I think I would have been the same and maybe even acted the same. It would have been a scary experience but also an eye opener. To be honest I don't think I would have the guts to go to some of the places they went. It made me sad to see all those little kids all cramped into small rooms with poor living conditions.

'Go Back to Where You Came From'
I see what Raquel meant when she said "its not my problem" about the refugees and asylum seekers, but I also think its unfair that they cant have a better life if we don't let them into our country. I mean, i know everyone doesn't want to deal with the boats full of people coming into our country, but if you were in their place what would you do?
If i were in a country that wasn't safe for me and my family, i would definitely take what ever chance I could to get to a better country. I think it would be scary walking in the street facing constant abuse or threats and family or friends disappearing, also not being able to have a good education as a girl as Najeeba from the case study said she lived with. I would get on a boat and try get to a better place and i think a lot of people would do the same. I think everyone would do what ever they could to do what is best for their family, so why do we blame them. They cant help being born and living where they were, we are just lucky enough to live in a country as good as Australia.
In my opinion, and many others', if we have heaps of asylum seekers coming into Australia, that would limit our chances for our future. More jobs will be going to the asylum seekers or refugees which would mean less jobs for us that have been in Australia our whole lives. Then what does that mean for us, they came here trying to get a better life but at the same time they are making ours worse.
In my belief there are pros and cons with asylum seekers and i think something has to be done, something has to be sorted out so we don't have to worry about it and neither do they.

Marking Time
Marking time
1) I think the film was called 'Marking Time' because it shows a bit of how we react to events over time, its marking a time in our history and showing how we remember them.
Cultural difference & turning points
1) In the film, the Afghani refugees were referred to as 'boaties'. I think this is a pretty derogatory comment but i think at the same time it is pretty endearing compared to other words people could have used.
2) I think the boys stole Rhanda's head scarf for attention from their mates or maybe peer pressure.
3) Hal returning the scarf from Rhanda was a significant point in the film because once he handed it back she stopped wearing it. She realized she didn't need to wear it in this country even though she has been brought up knowing to wear it.
4)
Country town
1) Brackley and Ararat have some similarities, We both have a high school, and the people are similar, people are quick to judge. Brackley is a small community like Ararat, and we both have a local radio station, cafes, festivals. In the film they showed the Olympic torch being carried through Brackley and the same happened in Ararat, some time ago.
2) I like living in a country town because i don't like busy places. I like living on a farm because i get time to myself and i'm free.
3) If i had to organize a festival for Ararat i would probably organize either a sports festival or a music festival. We could have famous sports or music people and every one could do a meet and greet sort of thing. I would try and do a lot of promotion and try and get people interested to come along. i would have little sporting activities for everyone to enjoy.

Characters
1) During 'Marking Time', through out the film i noticed a
change in Rhanda. At the start of the series she was really shy and wore her
hijab but by the end she had stopped wearing her hijab and had a trust in Hal.
I think the change was positive.

Work Experience- The Final day.
So this was the last day of my work experience. By Friday i had kind of gotten used to being there. For my last day i sat in on the Grade 1 classes. This morning was different from all the others though, once the morning bell had gone to start school everyone lined up outside in their classes. They then had to jog, run or walk as many laps around the outside fence of the school before the next bell went. As they finished each lap they added a counter to their teams container and eventually all the teams would add up points and see who was the winner. This lasted about 15 minutes and most kids finished about two or three laps, which was a pretty good effort considering how cold it was. I'm pretty sure it was the coldest day all week and i thought Monday was cold! For the morning they had maths, and i helped them learn the difference between Ones, Tens, and Hundreds during maths. They practiced by using the numbers they rolled on dice and listening to educational songs that helped them remember which order the number go in. The kids were really enthusiastic about listening to maths songs, all i can say is it is a lot different that what you would see of a high school kid! For the afternoon i sat in on the class while they did their 'daily five'. Which was a rotation of five learning activities they would do each day. Every class did these each day, they just all had different activities as they were obviously at different levels. With the grade 1's it was activities like; spelling games on the ipad or laptops, maths games, bingo and working with numbers, working with lettering and other little games like that. It was interesting to see them all working together as a team and if someone had an issue they would all try and solve it together. Overall i had a good last day and i was actually sad to leave. I chose 800 as my work experience because i like kids, and i think i could be a teacher but i haven't really decided what i want to do yet. I'm glad i chose 800 primary school as my placement, it was a good experience to see what it would be like to become a teacher or work at a school.

Work Experience- Day 2.
On the second day of work experience I went to the Winter Sports with the grade 5's and 6's. We hoped on the bus first thing in the morning and went to Stawell. It was Freeeezing! 800 had three soccer teams going to the sports, Me and Ashby coached one of the them. None of the kids on the team had ever played before and i didn't even know the rules myself but throughout the day they improved a lot. With one of the girls who was shy and didn't really want to play ending up scoring one of the best goals for the day. A lot of the kids from the other schools were really rude to some of the kids but they handled it really well. At the start of the day it was mainly the boys playing because the girls were shy, but in the end everyone was getting in there and trying there best. Everyone was so proud of themselves even when they didn't win. After the day had finished we didn't stay for finals because none of our teams made finals and we had to get back to Ararat in time for the buses. Once we got back to the school we all sat in the class and talked about the highlights and low lights of the day. i think overall everyone had a good day, even myself!

Work experience- Day 1.
So the first day of work experience, I was so excited but a little nervous. As soon as I walked into 800 everyone was so nice and went out of there way to make sure I felt comfortable. I didn't really know many of the staff, apart from a few that i had known from my previous School. Today I was working with the grade two kids. For the Morning I helped one of the classes with their spelling words and reading groups. I was surprised at how willing the kids were to talk to me, none of them were shy and they asked heaps of questions. We played a few little games then it was time for recess. After recess I worked with a different grade 2 class and we watched videos about castles, and then they wrote letters to their family/friends asking them about castles. After Lunch I was back with the first grade 2 class, and they worked on their projects. I helped some kids with painting and building things with cardboard boxes and crafts. Overall I really enjoyed my day, it was a lot more fun than I expected.
